Why We Go to Prisons
Why We Go to Prisons?
We must be about our Father's business, Preaching the Message of the Cross, to the Lost, at any Cost!
Historians, say that 2/3rd. of the New Testament was written while in jail by a man who set up and murdered Christians -- Before he met Jesus Christ, That man was Paul.
Matt:25:36, "Naked, and you clothed Me: I was sick, and you visited Me: I was in prison, and you came to Me."
Hebrews 13:3, "Remember them who are in bounds, as bound with them, and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the Body."
Luke 19:10, "The Son of Man is come to seek and to Save that which was lost."
Because, God has always and will continue to have a special Un-conditional love for inmates, great men of God like Peter, Samson, James, John the Baptist, Joseph, Jeremiah, all had been in jail. Men like David, Moses, Jacob, were murder's, adulterers, thieves. But when they called on God to forgive them, He cleaned them up and used them mightily to advance the Kingdom of God forward. As were many of us before we repented and were saved by God's Grace & Mercy. Think about it for just a moment, I'm sure there were many of us that committed crimes that we did not get caught for and we should be in jail for. But by God's grace & mercy.
God forgives an inmate, just as He would a sinner not in a prison, when they repent and ask forgiveness. The same scriptures apply to an inmate as they do to anyone. John 3:16-17, Romans 10:9-10 and II Corin. 5:17.
The heart's cry of God is, has always been and will always be towards the sinner. Jeremiah 29:11,"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
Isaiah 1:18,"Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
What about our heart? Do we have a heart like God towards the sinner, especially the inmates? If you would just think for a moment on the following. Ezekiel 37:1-14. As you read start to think about the prison system and the millions of dead dry spirits of inmates (men & women) in prisons across this Nation. Now ask yourself, can these dead dry spirits live again? YES, they can for such a time as this remember these are what Jesus died for, the lost.
God is raising up a "GREAT END TIME ARMY" of inmates and equipping them for the Sun-Set Harvest of Souls. A harvest that we as Prison Evangelist can only have a small part in as we are not here 24/7 as the inmates Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, & Teachers.
